Insomniac Games, a renowned  studio known for creating triple-A games on consoles, is going web/mobile with Insomniac Click. The newly started division is set for creating games on the web and social networks like Facebook, and will eventually do games for the mobile platform as well.

As of this moment, Click employs a “grand” total of five people, including Insomniac Games' Chief Creative Officer Brian Hastings. However, a number of job openings have been posted for those with the technical know-how and knowledge on how to make games for people that barely understand their concept. Or as Hastings puts it, “the games with the highest production values are simply impossible to play for the vast majority of people in the world,” which is why Click is looking to simplify things without compromising any of the elements that make games great.

And to calm some nerves, “Insomniac Click is an expansion of the company rather than a shift.” Insomniac Games is still dedicated to bringing some of the most well-known franchises in the industry to higher levels – including a new, unannounced IP (via EA Partners) we’re still eager to hear about – “with our proprietary blend of double rainbows and awesomesauce.”
