More and more we’re finding games connected to social networks, phones, or tablets in one way or another. The potential for an MMO to mobilize itself in terms of item management etc is huge, but few have taken advantage of such features. EVE Online could change that.
CCP Games used this week’s EVE Fanfest in Iceland to debut a very early design for a mobile app for EVE Online. It was a simplified version of the PC MMO, running on Nvidia Tegra 2. Ships could be viewed in full 3D models, while the devs talked about the potential for mobile economic trading and management along with skill queue management.
If it were to see an official release, the mobile app would use the game’s single-shard universe, the biggest server. But that’s only if; there’s no word on an official release.
