Late last year, talk about the latest Devil May Cry installment was hot and heavy about Dante’s dramatic change in appearance; then silence. Today, more DmC news has started to resurface, only this time the talked-about change is from a digital existence to real life in the form of a possible forthcoming movie.

Reports say rights to a Devil May Cry movie have been acquired by Screen Gems, home of the Resident Evil movie series. The potential movie deal, approved by Capcom and handled through the brokerage of Digital Development Management, is said to be already in motion with Kyle Ward hired to develop the script. Ward, writer of the Kane and Lynch movie adaptation, is set to keep the DmC story true to the videogame storyline: Dante tearing through the demon population in an effort to avenge his mother’s death.
