Sony have been holding a number of sessions on NGP at GDC this week, which mostly talk about details confirmed with the handheld’s reveal. There was some interesting new info though, about the new flash memory game format, called the NVG Card.

There will be two different storage capacities: 2GB and 4GB. 2GB will more often be used for smaller, casual games, and the bigger hardcore titles will use the 4GB. Both cards reserve 5 – 10 percent of their storage for game saves, patches, and other updates. This will take some of the pressure off of the NGP’s internal storage.

The average PS3 game uses about 9GB of disc space, NGP’s 4GB card is (obviously) just under half of that.
