Cryptic Studios, the developer of high-profile MMOs like Star Trek Online and City of Heroes, has appointed a new CEO.  Jack Emmert is set to take over John Needham, who leaves his position to seek new opportunites in the gaming scene. The Atari-owned developer will continue to work on current and new projects under Emmert’s lead.

Upon taking on his new duties, Emmert said: “Cryptic continues to develop great gaming experiences while ensuring the success of its current projects, Champions Online: Free for All, Star Trek Online and Neverwinter. I co-founded this company and am extremely proud of everything our teams have achieved. We will continue to set high goals for ourselves and under my leadership we will continue to meet them.”
