Ubisoft’s psychedelic shooter Child of Eden is no longer slated for “Q2 2011.” The company’s revealed that the game will launch in the US on June 14 for Xbox 360 (presumably the 17th in Europe). PS3 owners will have to wait a while longer to get their own release date though, as Ubisoft did not have that information available yet.

In case you need a refresher, Eden is the brainchild of Tetsuya Mizuguchi, who is famous for creating the rhythmic rail shooter and Eden precursor Rez. While Rez was met with mostly positive reviews when it was released in 2001, it has been a long time coming for the sequel, which promises to be a unique experience at the very least.

Child of Eden can be played with either a traditional controller or with Kinect, but the game’s box art claims that the game is “better with the Kinect sensor.” Of course, Microsoft is in the business of selling those Kinect sensors, so we’d wait for a more unbiased opinion before deciding how to play Eden ourselves.
