A differenza di quanto riportato ieri nel comunicato di annuncio ufficiale, Bethesda specifica che Prey 2 non si baserà sul motore grafico Tech 5 degli id Software. Il vice presidente del marketing Pete Hines ha specificato sulle pagine di IGN che il motore utilizzato è un altro:
«Questo gioco è in fase di sviluppo da diverso tempo e id Tech 5 è ancora incompleto, quindi [utilizzare Tech 5 su Prey 2] non è mai stata una possibilità»
Prey 2 arriverà nel 2012 su PC, PS3 e X360.
