After predicting that Zynga would release the Downy Birch Tree in FarmVille this evening, we've been lucky enough to be proven right, as tonight's FarmVille update brought with it not only the Downy Birch Tree, but the Silver Birch Tree as well. Both of these trees continue in the recent "realism" kick Zynga seems to be on with trees (we know you've been wanting more realism, and they've clearly heard you), and you can add them to your farm for 10 and 5 Farm Cash each, respectively.
As you might have guessed, the Downy Birch Tree is the level 2 tree in this pair, meaning that you can go ahead and save your 10 Farm Cash and just purchase the Silver Birch Tree, as you'll likely eventually receive the Downy Birch via a Mystery Seedling. Or, you can just luck into receiving one being posted by your friend(s) on their wall.
Both of these trees will be available in the game for the next two weeks, and both can be placed either on your Home Farm or on your second farm in the English Countryside. While realism is great and all, this Downy Birch Tree gives us a great idea for a cross-promotion Zynga could look into. A Downy Fabric Softener Tree anyone? C'mon, I can't be the only one that would like a stuffed animal tree, would I? It would look great right next to my Cotton Candy Tree, after all. But I guess that's for another time.
Which of these two trees are you looking to purchase for your own land, or will you add both to your collection? Let us know in the comments.
