L'ente di classificazione australiano Australian Classification Board ha ricevuto una pratica per un videogioco chiamato Burnout Crash, segnalato in sviluppo per PS3 e X360.
Oltre a questo non ci sono altri dati che potrebbero collegare il prodotto a Criterion o Electronic Arts, se non per il fatto che la richiesta di classificazione viene dall'Inghilterra, e i Criterion sono appunto un team di sviluppo inglese.
L'ultimo Burnout uscito sul mercato è stato Burnout Paradise nel 2008, quindi è verosimile pensare che i tempi siano maturi per un nuovo capitolo.
