Alice: Madness Returns certainly captures the color palette of the original story. Delightful sky-blues and sharp greens fill a bunch of the levels, making them a visual treat. That’s about all it takes from the children’s tale though, as this first gameplay trailer proves. The settings may be nice (some of them at least), but the enemies and weapons are anything but.
The focus on combat and platforming looks to be a solid mix though. Just make sure you tell your kids that LittleBigPlanet, this is not. Alice is definitely one to watch out for when it launches June 14.
