Recently, I have run into a several messages from Xbox Live saying some services are not available at the moment. The only thing I could see was the ‘My Xbox’ and ‘My Friends’ portions of the service, but since it was random and lasted a short period of time, I chalked it up to internet connection issues. It appears that wasn’t the case and Microsoft is trying to make up for any troubles caused to some users.

The outages were seemingly caused by Microsoft configuring behind the scenes tweaks of the Xbox Live Marketplace. Reports are coming in that some users are receiving a message from the Xbox team, saying they have  ”enhanced Game Marketplace to make finding games and content easier.” The message even includes a code for 80 Microsoft points, encouraging recipients to “try it yourself” before the March 2 expiration date. Fingers crossed.
